Spotted busking with her guitar by Idris Elba in 2019, Mychelle was invited to his studio to write and sing on his Yardie Mixtape project, the soundtrack to his directorial film debut of the same name. The Hackney-based singer-songwriter then dropped her debut single ‘The Way’ in 2021, followed by a four-track EP, Closure, a few months later. To celebrate the release, Mychelle put on a string of impromptu shows at secret locations across London, with the venues being revealed 24 hours before the performance.

2022 saw Mychelle set out a headline show at the Lexington in London alongside the release of Someone Who Knows EP. Performances across the UK and Europe followed, including Montreux Jazz Festival and supports with Maverick Sabre, Jorja Smith, and Michael Kiwanuka. A year full of festival appearances will see Mychelle round of 2023 with a headline UK run.
