About

Ruby J is a 20 year old singer-songwriter whose sound blends soul, jazz and rock influences
with her own modern twist. Her voice, once described by Paloma Faith as “that unique voice”
has drawn early comparisons to Amy Winehouse and Tina Turner but Ruby’s influences go
deeper, shaped by artists like Billie Holiday, Otis Redding and Erykah Badu, who Ruby
listened to from a young age.

Ruby picked up a guitar at 13 after being inspired by bands like Arctic Monkeys and she’s
been writing and performing ever since. In 2023 she joined The Lathams on their UK tour;
these shows were a huge step up from anything before.
Since then Ruby has shared stages with people such as Jamie Webster, Scouting for girls,
Brooke Combe and has played some of the country’s most prestigious festivals.
With new music coming and exciting tours on the way Ruby won’t just be “a girl from a small
town in the midlands trying to make modern music cool again.”
